To say goodbye to my 40s, I’ve decided that I, a short King at 163 cm, or 5’4″ for my American pals, will be entering a series of bodybuilding competitions, namely in Classic Physique.

Originally, I was going to compete in a trans-only competition down in Georgia. Then November 2024 happened. I had to switch plans as travel to the USA will no longer be safe for my transgender body.

But I’m not going to allow fascism and a constant attack on trans bodies stop me! I decided to switch gears and enter into Canadian competitions against my cis peers who have had testosterone as their primary hormone for decades compared to my two years of detectible levels as of November 2024. I will crush them! People will bask in the glory that is my trans body! Or that’s the plan anyway. Here is an essay I wrote about what all of this means to me.

I have decided to enter both Open–which means competing against enhanced athletes–as well as Natural. Though, natural is still up in the air. Because what was once a simple process for trans masc. athletes to get a therapeutic use exemption is longer the case. According to my endocrinologist who spends a fair amount of time filling out the paperwork, more and more trans masc. athletes are being denied, even those who’ve had them previously granted. UPDATE: I’ve been granted my Therapeutic Use Exemption and will be allowed to compete in Naturals for the 2025 competition season!

Back to the competitions. The problem is, they are expensive; $4000-$6000 per show expensive. If I place in the qualifiers in April for Open and September for Natural, naturally I want to move on to the pro qualifiers. You must enter the pro qualifiers within a specific period. Which means, if I place in the top three, which is very possible, I will be competing four times this year: April and July for Open, then September and October for Natural. If I win the Natural Canadian pro qualifier in October, then I’ll want to move onto a pro show in 2026. I don’t stand a chance in the Open. And if I don’t get my pro card in this year, then I’ll repeat in 2026 for naturals. What I do in 2026 is all conditional on if I am granted another therapeutic use exemption next year.

Why so expensive? The major costs are travel, hotel, entry fees, food, hair removal, tan and make-up, video and photography package with judges’ critique to help me improve.

You obviously want to support transgender people, especially transgender people in sport during this period when soon, we will again no longer be allowed on the field. I’m asking that you to please donate so that I can crush my cisgender peers without all of the financial stress!

In return, I will mail you a postcard with some of my art! Plus, you’ll get some currently unpublished recipes from a cookbook I’m working on! These recipes will be: High Protein Pancakes/Waffles freed from diet culture; High Protein Bars freed from diet culture; my favourite pre-workout smoothie recipe, and a dessert with amazing macros freed from diet culture!

So, help this guy out! If you decide to make a monthly or yearly donation, I’ll cancel that donation when I’ve decided to no longer compete! And you’ll be able to cancel yourself at any time! Thanks! Also, tell your friends to help this guy out!

Oh yeah! This is Canadian dollars which makes it an even better deal for my American pals!
